Location 110% with extremely clean facilities throughout and a view over the Church/central plaza makes this accommodation option exquisite value. Note" however, that the breakfast is simple: orange juice/coffee/tea/2x bread rolls and jam. Would recommend for price paid.
Lovely location - right in the heart of the city of Funchal. Its an old building but the accomodation is comfortable enough with everything needed. The room on the top floor was big with plenty of space (nice view) and a good toilet/shower. Very clean. Old furniture, but does the job. I had a closet and a table, big bed. Plenty of space. Good WiFi and humble staff. Can't get better value for money than this in the location you get.

My room was facing a somewhat machine room on another building (!?) - difficult to sleep sometimes.
A bit like staying with your grandmother, clean, simple & a brilliant location. The breakfast was coffee & 2 bread rolls, pretty bad, the shared bathroom may be an issue, the room was clean & v old fashioned, but for the price & location v hard to beat. Finding it as a stranger can be difficult, but easy when you know. The ladies who run it are older portugese who speak no english, but understand you ok.
The small hotel is right in the center of town. 5 min to walk to the harbour, restaurants, museums 2 min. The gondol that takes you to a great viewpoint over the town is 15 min walking. Breakfast is simpel with bread, jam andbutter ... but the bread are fresh from the bakery at the first floor. Rooms and toilet/shower are ok size and clean. You’ll get no luxury but still pretty high value for money
In an amazing location as it central to everything. The hotel its self is very basic, but all we needed.
Paying for the room they only accept cash.
We do not have the breakfast so can't comment on that.
