This place lives up to the hype.

It’s a great location on the edge of the old town so you’re within easy walking distance of the old town, the marina, Blandys and the cable car to Monte. They offer free parking but do get their instructions on how to access it, also hold your nerve as it doesn’t look as if your car will fit the parking entrance- but it does !

Staff are ever so helpful and we got a tour of the slightly confusing lift options to get everywhere. The apartment ( one bed with separate living room) was amazingly decked out, felt relaxed straight away with loads of space. Loved the SMEG appliances even if we struggled to work the coffee maker, and I was in heaven that the free water dispenser also gave out bubbled water.

Great fluffy white towels that you could get changed as often as you wanted. Bed was a little hard for my personal preference but not greatly so.

Every morning it was exciting to see what free pastries would be delivered.

Rooftop pool and relaxing area was lovely although pool was a bit too cold to enjoy. Drinks are not cheap here, nor is food, but it’s definitely good quality.

You also have access to the gym in the building which is really well equipped.

I’d absolutely come back in a heartbeat if I get the opportunity.

As the designated family vacation planner, I spend countless hours looking for the "perfect" hotel/resort/apartment in the perfect locations. Save your time and energy everyone. Just book at the Three House Hotel and you can thank me later.

My travel group included 4 people, so a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, small kitchenette was what we were looking for. Location for me is a major selling point. We were able to walk to all the restaurants we dined at, to the cable car station to Monte, the grocery store, the Mercado dos Lavadores, the painted doors on Rua de Santa Maria, and Blandy's Wine Lodge and Museum.

After booking, communication was immediate via Whats App and Email. With confirmation of the booking, airport transfers and rental cars were mentioned as an option. We opted to book these with the Three House to avoid separate reservations and contacts. (Car was through Atomo which was easy and well priced. They brought the car right to the hotel and picked it up there as well)

Upon arrival, we were given a tour of the hotel and our room. The apartment was exactly as pictured on Trip Advisor and Booking.com. If you are planning on using the kitchenette, you will need to pop over to the grocery store which is across the street. Coffee pods are provided, but if you need spices for cooking, bring along your salt and pepper or grab from the grocery. We personally did not use the kitchen but to warm up left overs. Why cook when you have so many great places to eat right outside your door. Laundry pods are provided for the laundry. Washer and dryer is a steam type machine which was new to us. We brought a clothes line for things that would likely shrink in the steam.

We were on the island primarily for hiking, so we were not around much during the day. When we were out and about, we would Whats app the front desk for their recommendations for lunch or supper. They will assist you with your whole day itinerary if needed. This is what sets the Three House Hotel above the rest. They welcomed us as part of the family. We could have chatted with the front desk all day. Sidonio became my personal assistant when we needed anything. (You really made our days perfect)

I celebrated my birthday while at the hotel and a bottle of champagne was waiting for us when we returned from our hiking. Pastries were delivered in the mornings, chocolate at check out were just special touches that made this place unique.

The stay was perfect and I cannot find anything to even remotely change to improve it.
