Great history lesson and sound effects. Wax works were just mannequins dressed in period costume. Worth a visit if you have an interest in the development of relations between england and India.

A good small museum which shows the amazing voyages of adventurers from Portugal over 1,000 years. Lots and lots of reading with good wax models depicting the various explorers. Well worth a visit at the Marina to cool down out of the sun for a small fee!

We were reluctant at entering but then realised it was worth while. Concise and simple information about the Portuguese discoveries. A short film at the entrance (5-10 minutes duration with simple language) before the exhibition both in Portuguese and in English is needed, especially for foreign and younger visitors. A bit too expensive (5€) and no student or family discounts. It is far from the centre of Lagos and it should be better advertised and signalled. The small gift shop should have more books, leaflets, souvenirs about this important era for Portugal.

We went to the wax works
It was ok nothing to go mad over it has about 30 wax works of famous historic travelling Portuguese
With lots of information on them
It was all over very quickly
Some of the scenes were quite good but some just had the person behind some glass
It's ok if you want to walk around for about 20 minutes it kills a little time
It as a very little shop and a'll books are in Portuguese like most of the rest of the stuff so you can't buy any mementos because of this
