Gran Via Tapas Bar is a superb bar that is in a superb area of the Old Town.We had just visited Sherry's bar and O Paulo's and the Goardie Viking pubs and decided to go in here for a few beers.A nice bar that has lots of album covers from the 60s and 70s adorning the walls and a sparse interior. On the two occasions we visited'one mid-day and the other late in the night'this bar was fairly busy with people mostly sat outside taking in the warm weather. On both visits to this bar we had a few bottles of Sagres Cerveja or Super Bock which were served iced cold and at a very fair price.A nice bar in an excellent area and a bar that is worth a visit.Located on Rua Alves Correia.
opening hours are.
Monday-Saturday-10.00-02.00.
Sunday-Closed.

I love tapas which is hard to find in Portugal! Luckily this place is ran by a Spanish man and his Portuguese wife! Sangria was beautiful, we had a few white Russians too. Please note, the music they place is amazing! If you like the wild card hits and just generally good music - this is your place for a few drinks and bite to get you started.
Most of the dishes are severed on bread. One each with some potatoes to share is enough. Big portions and very friendly staff. They came out to speak to us on a number of occasions, just because :)

Totally.recommend! Had mini burgers beef on brie and salmon. All delicious especially beef. Also cheap! And nice guys working there

We never go to Albufeira without paying a visit to this tapas bar, it is so good we ended up there every day.
Again it still serves the superb Mahou beer on draft, best drink in town.
The tapas prepared by Alexandra in the kitchen are second to none in quality, price and size.
The bar area is run by the man himself ( Ricardo ) never a dull moment. He is now ably assisted by his brother ( Dario ).
The background music is so good.
Strongly recommend a visit.

My wife and I visited this tapas bar after reading the reviews on trip advisor we were very pleased with the food the atmosphere was great away from the noise of the square we had a lovely evening and will definitely go back to this little gem.well done to all the staff .

My partner and I visited her for some lunch the last day of our holiday and wished we'd found it sooner! The food was amazing, especially the homemade mini burgers!
The beer was good and the service was great!!
