We had lunch in this restaurant yesterday as part of our tour of Liege. The place is very charming, cosy and full of nice memorabilia. The menu looked interesting, combination of local specialities like boulettes a la liegoise and french classics (escargots). My husband had a souris d'agneau. I had steak tartare, Both were very good. Fries were ok, nothing special. My glass of Sauvignon was very average and not cold enough. Glass of red wine was acceptable. The real start of the show however was our dessert - chilled cafe liegois which was simply outstanding. Everybody in the restaurant seem to have had this dessert. We heard a lot of happy noises around us. So all in all a very good experience. Would recommend.

We had dinner outside. Wine list is very over priced. Food portions are huge, but there is no vegetable with the main course at all. My husbands ribs were dry. My tartar was fine, but again, could have done with less meat and some veggies or salad. In general, when you order a starter, you expect a price for a starter and the portion size for a starter; here starters were priced like main courses and had the same size as a main course. Service was really slow, almost non existent.

The staff was very good. My brother knew the owner and he was taking care of us. The mussels were delicious with the garlic sauce. The baby pork ribs were also excellent and the andouillette a la dijonaise was very tasty. The wines were also excellent. You can go there and you will be amazed.

We chose this place because we found it on a list of the best "boulets liégeois" and saw that the TripAdvisor reviews seemed to confirm its quality. Unfortunately, as it was our first night in Liège, we hadn't thought ahead to make a reservation. Thankfully we were still able to eat there, but in the basement. That said, the basement was lovely, with candlelight. It also quickly filled up.

Our meal was delicious. We decided to order two main courses so we could try more than just the boulets. The boulet was fantastic, a nice sweet (but not too sweet) sauce, and the fries tasted amazing with mayonnaise! Also came with apple sauce on the side. Our second dish was rabbit, which was also very tasty. Both were served in adorable little pots in rich sauces (with tons of vegetables for the rabbit). We were unfortunately too full after that for dessert, but would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in Liège! Just make sure to get there early or make a reservation.

I have to say, this is really a great place. The food is so delicious. Your mouth can tell it's far from microwaved food. I live the snails, the andouillette and the gratin de queue de bœuf. The last one was marvelous!

Tha wait wasn't that long. They took half an hour to come and ask what we want but after that it was quick. In 1h30, we were done even though it was the day of Liège - Bastogne - Liège and the market.

The staff knows it's food and it's wine which is a bug plus.

You really have to try this place!
