This was our fourth visit to l'Auberg'in. We came away from our other visits sometimes very pleased, sometimes disappointed. Mixed feelings, but that obviously did not stop us from returning.
Pleasant welcome in this warm, "cottage-y" ambiance restaurant in the Woluwe St. Pierre district of Brussels. Nice table for four opposite the blazing fireplace, which is also used for grilling purposes. Very good service. Full on a Thursday evening, so be sure to make reservations well ahead. The only draw-back are the uncomfortable chairs.
Quite extensive à la carte options, both as entrées and main courses. Also a 4 course menu at a reasonable €44. I tried the salade de langoustines as a starter, which was nicely presented, but didn't taste much of langoustines.
The head waiter had enthusiastically recommended the noisettes d'agneau (as it was lamb season), grilled on afore-mentioned open fire. Excellent choice, perfectly grilled.
Rather modest wine list, but as this is not a high-flying restaurant, you don't need a high-flying wine either. We tried a St. Joseph from the Rhône Valley and everyone at the table commented on its good quality and perfect match to the lamb.
Desserts are always very much a matter of individual taste and can be disappointing. This was the case for us. Nothing special.
In summary, nice ambiance, very good service, nice food, reasonably priced and not too loud. Perfect for an evening out with friends.

Excellent food and service, one of the best restaurants I have tried in Brussels. I recommend the ris de veau sauce béarnaise.

From the moment we stepped into this cosy restaurant, the feeling of Customer is king really sets in.

After our warm welcome, we were treated to a delicious amuse bouche maison, artichokes, shrimps, smoked salmon with chives.

Our starters were as uplifting with the duo de terrines and duck raviolis served on a bed of deliciously cooked veg accompanied with a tasty sauce.

Our mains of the seasonal venison was fine, exquisite sauce and low on carbs! Puree of celeriac and parsnips.

The desserts were the perfect end to our fine lunch. A trio of sorbet including passion fruit, mango and coconut and the soufflé glacé with mandarin.

The plus: top service - friendly and speed, sufficient privacy, delicious food and flexibility on menu - I’m lactose intolerant

The plus plus: cosy, clean bathroom!
