If you have a chance before the end of May to visit this museum, put it on your list. They are doing a show of Dutch Masters from St. Petersburg. It is the first time this museum has staged an exhibition of Dutch Masters from the collection of the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg. There are 63 works of art by 50 Dutch Golden Age artists. Audio guides are free. Well worth your time.

The Amsterdam Hermitage now shows the Dutch Masters. A collection of masterpieces collected by the Russian tsars. This exhibition is a must see! While listening to the audio guide you learn more about the artists and history. Children can enjoy a fun search!
Next to almost every piece you can find quotes of children about the artwork, very fun to read!

What makes it special: location! On the Amstel River, next to these historical white wooden bridges site a place that used to be and orphans institution. It now is the Museum Hermitage that bases its shows on cooperation with the Hermitage Museum in Petersburg, Russia. We saw the Dutch masters, especially Rembrandt and his pupils, in a great show with portraits that seems to have been made yesterday.
