This is the first Marriott property to make a good effort to provide Platinum Elite amenities in spite of the executive lounge being closed. So far this year we have stayed at Sheraton, Westin, another Renaissance, Marriott, Courtyard and Fairfield. Most have just said sorry the lounge and restaurant are closed, here’s a few bonus points. This hotel offered us free breakfast at the their restaurant daily, happy hour with free wine, beer and appetizers in the bar between 530pm and 9pm and unlimited free soft drinks all day. They also allowed me to check in 3 hours before check in time and offered late checkout.

All staff we encountered were great. Above and beyond were Michael at the front desk and Christiana at the bar.

The location cannot be beat, a short walk from Central Station and many tourist attractions. The hotel itself is very nice but looking a bit dated. We found the room more than adequate but would have appreciated fluffier pillows and a few USB ports for charging devices. This is not a luxury any longer. Even older travelers expect it (like us).

This was our second time staying at the Renaissance Amsterdam and would likely do so again if the price is right.

At first I thought my stay wouldn’t be that exciting and memorable as my suite night award was declined. However, upon checking in, I felt the warmth and welcoming atmosphere of the staff.

As a Platinum Member, they have upgraded us to the next category room which was quite big room for an european standard. Since the lounge was still close when we visited, we had all day free drinks at Koepelkerk Cafe!

Our room was assigned overlooking the Koepelkerk which was great. Very spacious room indeed.

We just wasn’t able to go inside Koepelkerk as it was closed:(

The location of the hotel is centrally located, you can almost walk everywhere! And metro and trams are just within minutes away.

Overall, our stay was amazing and memorable. Hopefully our SNA will be granted next time :)

Location is great.
Corridors are dark and worn, wallpaper coming off, room service not collected.

Nice welcome present in room.

In room dining options on app are abysmal: for adults ONLY choice is oatmeal! Really?

In restaurant more options but staff seem uncaring and appear to want to be somewhere else.

Hotel needs a do over

Stayed here for a night for a weekend getaway by myself. The hotel is modern and clean. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The food in the lobby restaurant was very good. The breakfast buffet had a large number of options. The pea soup from the lobby bar at dinner was amazing!!

This hotel is super close to the main train station, therefore so easy to get to and from the airport or anywhere else really. It’s so easy to walk around the old city from here with all that has to offer during the day and night.

I stayed here before Covid lockdown stuff began, so I can’t speak to that.
