Up-Scale hotel in a good location.
Aside from the somewhat minimalist guest room interior design, this hotel is well above the usual Marriott in every way.
Most impressive is the staff and its friendly and positive attitude towards the guests and providing exemplary service at all times. My recent experience proved this point. Once I had checked in, I never saw any employee who did not greet me by name and with a smile, offering to be of any help they could.
The concierge staff was a tremendous help when I discovered that I had lost critical medications. They found a pharmacy for me, ordered the meds and delivered them in a matter of a few hours at a very reasonable price.
The Steak House is a decent in-house restaurant and the selection of dry aged steaks was agreeable. Room service was perfect and the ground floor bar offered enjoyable luncheon and snack options with great, huge, hamburgers.
The only less than positive concern for me was the lack of storage and work space in an otherwise great room. The redesign called for no desks in the guest rooms and for a hotel that has many business guests, I think this is a mistake.True, some people live on their laptops, but I missed having a desk. The guest rooms are not carpeted, so the floors are cool/cold to walk on in bare feet. The rugs around the bed(s) are nice, but will require much more care than typical hotel carpets.
The location is close enough to most attractions, but not in the center of the city. However, trams and buses are literally at the front of the building. Taxi fare from airport is about 40-45 Euros and the fastest way to and from.
A word of caution about Amsterdam taxis: Over the last decade, I have had two cab drivers who took advantage of what they figured was just a tourist and took obscure routes to my destinations. It pays to get a quick photo of the cab before you enter and to know at least approximately where you are going. This is no fault of the hotel, but worth remembering if you need cabs.

Brought my father along to Amsterdam and had a great time at the Marriott. We enjoyed the remodeled lounge as well as drinks and a meal at Soren’s. This is a great property in a great location. Close to the canal cruises, museums and many other attractions. As usual Frans, one of the lobby hosts, was a great source of information of everything Amsterdam.

We arrived at the hotel Sunday afternoon and our room was ready which was a nice surprise - the rooms are clean and spacious - beds are comfortable as well also very quiet. Check in was easy and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is right across from canal cruises and a hop on off bus. The Riks museum is within a 10 min walk. Plenty of restaurants nearby - short walk and lots of shopping available. A perfect spot!

Stayed here for two bonus nights from previous Marriott stays and were very happy with our choice of weekend hotel. The staff was very friendly and corteous and were always there to help. As an example, we had forgotten to empty our rooms safe and found out after we had checked out. The man at recetion called Security and in five minutes we had all our wallets and credit cards.
The hotel is conveniently situated at the Leidseplein With the 397 bus from the airport stopping right outside. The rooms are standard size with all amenities you require and we specially appreciated lots of electrical outlets, some for English plugs, and some USB. Good beds and a nice bathroom.
Would love to stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for one night on a weekend short stay - the absolute best part of this hotel is the location. It’s very close to all the best attractions of the city. The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, ‘I am amsterdam’, Heineken Experience and the ‘Albert Cuyp market’ to name a few. The hotel also offers discounts to many of the museums and the Heineken Experience including the Hop on Hop off and Canal tours through the Concierge. Yes, the rooms are a bit smaller- but the M-Lounge and excellent service from the staff makes it all worthwhile. It’s definitely a recommended stay in Amsterdam.
