A group of friends and I in Amsterdam for New Years wanted to have a nice meal on New Year’s Eve to mark the occasion, and I found this restaurant from tripadvisor. The restaurant itself is very small, cosy and ambient. The owners and staff are all Italian and make you feel welcome.

We started with fresh homemade bread and olive oil from Italy which was so simplistic yet unbelievably delicious. We then opted for the €80 four course New Years menu. To start, I had the eggplant parmigiana which was out of this world. Hands down the best I’ve ever tasted, even in Italy. Next I had the tomato, basil and burrata ravioli which was cooked al dented and absolutely delicious (see my picture...drool). Then it was the slow cooked beef with potato tart. This beef did not need chewing it was so tender! Finally I had the blueberry panacotta which again was faultless. We finished the meal with some limoncello which rounded it off perfectly. This was hands down the best food I ate in Amsterdam, and I really couldn’t recommend it enough.

Thank you for your feedback,
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our recent creation and understood our concept.
La Maschera is a small ( 6 tables), authentic, unpretentious Italian restaurant
We provide every day a 9 options menu(3 starters,, 3 homemade pastas, 3 mains) with 2-3 vegetarian options.
Our aim is to replicate in the wonderful Amsterdam , in a friendly, cozy, informal atmosphere the unique specialities and products ( truffle, wine, oil, meat and cheese) which have made a hidden village and situated at the border of Umbria at Tuscany and its stunning valleys, world-known.
Pasta, bread and desserts are homemade every day by our chef.
We use the same recipes and the same suppliers of our Italian restaurant ‘ Lillotatini’.
Kind Regards
La Maschera del Lillotatini

Had seen the reviews on TripAdvisor for this place so decided to book. The staff were very attentive throughout from the moment we arrived, until we left. We were given complimentary home made bread when we arrived which was delicious! We weren't overly hungry so decided to opt for the tagliolini with beef and ragu sauce. We asked beforehand about the portion size and was told they were 100g each. The meal was absolutely delicious. So tasty! It was just the right amount. I would recommend though having this as a main option for a slightly more expensive price as some people who have a slightly larger appetite may want this for a main course.

Overall, lovely meal and ambience. Would highly recommend.

Real authentic Italian restaurant, nice staff and good food. But the choice in the menu is a bit poor. Make a choice out of 3 main courses, but 2 of these are 'stew' and the other is fish. Homemade pasta's choice of 3 as well. The menu is online on the website and changing so make sure you check that out before going and make sure they serve something you like.

Very small but cozy and warm restaurant. Typical Italian kitchen with home made products.
We enjoyed the tasty dishes.
Even the kitchen is so small the choice is really enough to enjoy a nice dinner.
We recommend this restaurant
