This hotel is a true gem, snuggled in the mountain town of Zermatt. You enter the hotel through a cave that has been carved in the mountain side. When you arrive to check in you are offered a welcome drink in there cozy lobby bar. Once we were brought to our room we breathless, the accommodations are better than the pictures, because they are real, and a photo cannot capture the freshness in the air and the relaxing scent. The breakfast was remarkable, one of the best french toast dishes I have ever had. The spa is out of the world, perhaps one of the best I have ever been to. With all of these amenities, and excellent staff if you find yourself the opportunity to stay here, take it! Trust me you will be glad you did.

I cannot recommend this beautiful hotel enough.

We had lovely, kind and caring emails before arrival to ensure our trip would be a special one. All restaurants were recommended and booked for us prior to arrival and we had collection from the station in the most adorable Omnia cab. We were offered welcome drinks in the cosy fireplace reception, a tour of the hotel and Bourbon in the room as a gift for the trip. The hotel restaurant itself is divine with delicious food and impeccable service. Not to mention the beautiful spa facilities with views of the Matterhorn and the town.

Most importantly though, every member of staff at the hotel is incredibly charming and welcoming, helpful and kind and went out of their way to ensure our stay was a fabulous one. The staff couldn't be nicer. We celebrated a birthday whilst there and everyone ensured it was a special occasion for us.

If you are travelling to Zermatt, The Omnia is unmissable.

We stayed in one of the amazing Tower suites and thought it was one of the most beautiful rooms we’ve experienced in thirty years of international travel. The pictures on the website are great, but the room itself is even better and the view is stupendous! You have a living room area with fireplace and a half circle of windows which extends along one wall giving you a view of the lovely town of Zermatt and the Matterhorn. The bedroom is large and has lots of storage space for ski clothes and luggage and so forth. The bathrooms have heated floors and lots of shelves for stuff. Breakfasts are outstanding, a combination of hot items to order and a buffet with cheeses, croissants, fresh bread, granola and fruit. The staff, as other reviewers have noted, is exceptional and because it is a small hotel you get to know them a bit.

Some tips:

I was concerned about the location and proximity to slopes and restaurants, but there was no need to worry - the hotel is elevated yet perfectly located, and you just take an elevator down, walk through a very short tunnel you are right in the middle of town, with easy walking to shops and restaurants. We did take a taxi to the slopes every day, which our ski guide arranged but the front desk can also call them for you. It’s a short taxi ride.

The hotel has a ski and boot locker storage area in the tunnel with boot warmers in the lockers to dry your boots every night.

Do make restaurant reservations in advance during ski season - the restaurants are quite busy. The hotel staff can make recommendations via email in advance. Ditto for spa appointments - I’d recommend a month in advance.

If you are accustomed to skiing in the US, I highly recommend a guide. The hotel is two doors away from the Stoked Ski shop which has great guides and equipment rentals and seriously knowledgeable boot fitters if you need adjustments. Lift tickets and private guides are less expensive than at home, surprisingly.

To summarize - awesome hotel, highly recommended!

We were supposed to spend a longer weekend in the Omnia, however due to the extraordinary avalanche danger we got to stay for another 3 nights. These 3 nights were complimentary – which cannot be taken for granted.

The situation indeed was extraordinary for the team, nonetheless as guests we didn't feel any stress. The team was very calm, supportive and helpful the whole time. Thank you for that!

The hotel itself is definitely worth a visit. It was not our first time there and will not be the last. From the moment the doors to the hotel tunnel open, you enter in a different world – a home away from home including a lot of warm smiles, unique design and excellent food.

And if you want to observe Matterhorn from the most prettiest angle, take a cup of coffee on the terrace. You will not regret!

Words can’t describe how amazing The Omnia is! The room , the amenities , the restaurant , the location are unmatched , but the most important part of our wonderful experience are the people who work there! From the unpeccable housekeeping service to the General manager - everything runs like a Swiss clock! They are the best in everything - we feel like they are part of our family! They address every concern you may have and do make sure that you get the best of all possibilities! We were late a day because of train closures along the way , but their help made everything possible!
Thank you Christian, Julia, Tamara, Laura, Philippe, Alexander, Christina , Rebekah, Vanessa and everyone at the restaurant , the cab driver , and absolutely everyone on their team!!!
