Minimalist, utilitarian, modern, compact and so clean, it shines - from the wooden floor to the immaculate bed sheets and bathroom - this hotel is one of my favorites for a stay in Luzern for concerts at KKL and other activities. Love it and will return!

We are a family traveling for a holiday and have so far stayed at 4 hotels in Switzerland while moving from place to place. We stayed at Hotel Alpina for 2 nights and we wished we could have stayed longer! The check in staff at Hotel Monopol was friendly and helpful; the location was convenient and just opposite the train station. The quad room we stayed in was newly renovated and was very spacious and clean. There was no kettle to boil hot water in the room but that was provided when requested. The room was facing the car park; which I think was less noisy as compared to the ones facing the road and right above the restaurant and bars downstairs. There was still noise but was ok, didn’t have to use the ear plugs they provided in the room. Overall, a wonderful room and experience! Out of the 4 hotels we stayed at from Zermatt, Montreux, Interlaken and Lucerne; our family voted this the best !

The hotel is located in the heart of the city. A large number of bus lines (free) allow you to easily and quickly reach any place of interest.
The rooms are clean, quiet, and relatively spacious.
Only one unfavorable aspect: the elevator is rather dangerous. You have to pay attention when using it.

I was there for 3 days in a business trip. My room was really small: 6 metres per 2.5 metres. Too small. It clean but it need refresh.
Lovato. Is perfect: close to the train station and to downtown.
It needs a tefresh: it's old style, it doesn't have a reception.

The reception at our Hotel *** ALPINA is not occupied in the wintermonths. All our guests are informed prior to arrival that the check in is in our sister hotel, the Hotel **** MONOPOL Lucerne. The reception there is occupied 24 hours, so if our guests do have any requests, they have the possibility to contact our sister hotel at any time.
You made a reservation for one of our Standard Single rooms. If you wish to stay in a new renovated room which is more spacious, we would recommend you to book one of our SUPERIOR or DELUXE-DESIGN rooms for your next stay.

Hotel was very clean and roomy. The location was perfect. We would recommend this spot. Close to the old city, train station, lots of restaurants, shopping and two blocks from the waters edge. The staff was very friendly and stores our luggage as we arrived early afternoon.
