The people in this hotel were super friendly. The room was clean, and very quiet. The hotel is in a fantastic location for visiting the city. It's also easy to get to other parts of Switzerland, because of its proximity to the train station.

I stayed at waldstaetterhof hotel for 3 nights(30 Jan-2 Feb) and it met my expectations:
-location: front of central station, not the best location but near to the city landmarks
-staff: superb! Polite, professional, helpful (especially thanks to Ms Fiona Rast)
-breakfast: fresh , diverse, high quality
-room: neat, clean … but small with basic amenities .
I agree with the general reviews giving good comments about the staff and breakfast but writing again and again that the hotel is central – You get what you look for and this information is written in hotel description.
The English reviews I read were not helpful to understand what to expect.
The price was affordable compare to other central Lucerne hotel at the time of my booking. I stayed in a single room on the 5th floor. The room and bathroom a good size and nicely decorated, the light is fine and I got a Relatively quiet room at my request (quiet room) which was the most important thing for me as I visited Lucerne for the lovely outstanding Fasnacht Carnival . Now to the things that disturbed, the cons especially as I stayed 5 nights.
- The mattress is very thin and soft (even concave) and the pillow too big and full for my liking and the mattress not comfortable and no good for my back
- Many television channels but not one in English, not even BBC.
- There is no minibar in the room – I didn't notice when reading about the hotel amnesties but didn't think that a 3* plus hotel in a touristic town as Lucerne will not have them.
-I also want to mention that there is no A/C for people intending to come in summer.
The room during summer must be very very hot as even in February – It wasn't cool enough for the blanket they provided. I had to leave the window open even after I asked to close the heating, but if you get a room at the front there will be a noise problem.
- No shutter on window and the curtain doesn't really blocks the light on a sunny morning.
- On my last day the cleaning of the floor started around seven thirty with talking and moving things around. What was the hurry? the hotel wasn't full.
In summery – my review and comments are about the room I stayed in maybe others are partly different.
Stayed in this lovely hotel, the room was tidy and clean. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is just 3 minutes from the train station and also in the city centre. The breakfast was fantastic. I really had a great day
