The location of this hotel is excellent. In the Old Town, this hotel is so close to everything including the train station. The best part is that it is on the lake and overlooking the Chapel Bridge. It is really worthwhile to pay for a lake view room. The rooms are good, as were the breakfasts.The staff are so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.They are the best staff I have encountered this trip to Europe.

All reviews chapel bridge the river great location train station old town across the bridge balcony room large balcony covered bridge hotel restaurant top floor included breakfast would definitely stay here again mt pilatus there is no air conditioning an easy walk wonderful hotel

Location is fantastic with amazing views. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Restaurant and breakfast were great and well staffed. Had an amazing Christmas lunch

We stayed here for one night on 21 Dec 2019. We booked two room as the hotel do not has a family room. Room size differ, if you want a room with big window overlooking the Chapel bridge, the room and toilet is a bit small. The next room has smaller window but larger toilet. Breakfast was good. Location was really great, near the station and the bridge.

...and what a view. We were on the 5th floor facing the river and could see much of Lake Luzern as well, notbto mention Mt Pilatus and many other snow capped mountains. Des Alpes is the closest hotel to Luzern's famous wooden bridge. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was generous. They even brought me warm gluten free bread on request. This hotel is charming and and excellent value.

This hotel is as close to the Chapel Bridge as you can get! We had a room overlooking the bridge, lake and Mt Pilatus. The hotel room was modern, clean, good size, comfortable (but firm) bed. It also had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs and a door that opened two ways - as a window/door. Excellent staff; great breakfast; great restaurant with reasonably priced food (lovely views of the river and Bridge from most tables). Loved our stay in Lucerne at this hotel.

Spent 3 days in December 2019. Lakeside view room. Room was large and well appointed. Balcony was a nice addition. Views are amazing. Room is well appointed. With a large bathroom and hardwood floors. Bed is was comfortable and a double put together for a king. Hotel staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I asked lots of questions about sights and excursions and all were answered. Breakfast was good. Well appointed but ends a little early for my liking, 10AM. On vacation you don't want to get up too early and with two people showering and getting ready it's tough to make it down much before 10AM. The hotel is a good value given its location and amenities. Switzerland is expensive and I felt it was a good value. I would stay here again.
