Lucerne is such a romantic city, I am not suggesting it to all my friends as a beautiful destination.
We stayed for four nights at Hotel des Alpes and although we didnt spend much time in the hotel or the room, we have nothing but fond memories and praise.
Its located right on the canal/river and the views are stunning, if you can splurge on a room with a balcony right over it, I highly suggest it!
Although there is no air conditioning, we were very comfortable at night sleeping very well.
Holiday was remarkable!!

I didn't plan to stay in this hotel but changed my mind after the original hotel screwed up. Great decision to choose this hotel as the location is perfect with great views. Short walking distance from train station. Comfortable bed and friendly staffs. Have coffee machine and Dyson fan in the room. The only grouses I have is can hear next door chatting and smoking on the balcony at 2am in the morning. Probably they can make a wall in between the balcony.

We stayed 2 nights in Lucerne. This hotel was in the perfect location. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean. We walked all over the city. We would definitely stay there again.
