The hotel is very conveniently located and has an old world charm to it - which means that if you are staying in the historic wing, the floors may creak, lighting might be dimmer than is norm, and rooms and baths may look dated. We also heard chimimg bells from a watch tower close by a couple of times at night. However, we didn't mind any of these minor inconveniences much as we were staying for just a night and actually enjoyed the overall experience.
Though the housekeeping and cleanliness in the bathrooms could be a bit better - we found a few amenities missing (like just 1 pair of bathroom slippers for a room with 2 guests, opened packs of vanity kits that might have been used by the previous guests and hadn't been replaced with new ones etc). But, the location and service, especially from Ms. Flavia amacher, was amazing. She was very helpful, kind and accommodating. She truly extended the swiss hospitality and made us feel very welcome. The other lady at the reception, apologies we didn't get her name, who helped us leave our luggage at the reception in the morning, was extremely nice too and even had our bags sent to our rooms. All in all, we would come back here for the amazing service, the old world charm, and the prime location.
