We were greeted with a cosy looking room, huge bed and rather spacious, in our opinion. After having visited several accomodations from Italy to Switzerland during our trip, this has to be the most unpleasant and disappointing experience! Fine if there is no air-conditioning, but the ceiling fan doesnt serve any purpose at all, being very weak regardless the speed you adjust to. There are restaurants just below the street and it can be very noisy during meal hours. Had to wait till after 11pm when the Italian restaurant closes before some peace and quiet. Also had some issues with falling asleep because it was warm and stuffy. At 2 or 3am, there were people yelling and shouting and thereafter church bells will ring every hour. Refrigerator is weak too, we had food like milk with us and not cold at all. There are tea bags provided but no kettle for boiling water?? We shared our feedback to Michael, the friendly reception staff and he apologized and said that they will look into all these issues. Only consolation is that the hotel is in a prime location.

The hotel was nice in the busy old-town of Luzern. Our check-in was very good. In the warm weather, the hotel will get very hot. There is no air-conditioning and the windows provided no air flow. When we turned on the ceiling fan, clumps of dust flew across the room because it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Because of the location near so many restaurants and along the river, there are a lot of people outside. The rooms can be quite noisy when the windows are open.
Although you can drive up to the hotel to check-in, I would recommend parking at the train station and walking your luggage if possible. The streets are quite narrow and have heavy pedestrian traffic.

We stayed here for 2 nights in Lucerne. A great choice! I had communicated with the hotel via email in advance, and they were very responsive.
NOTE: The hotel is located in an area that is a no-car-zone. The website states you can be dropped off, but our driver would not do it, so we ended up schlepping our luggage several blocks over cobblestones.
When we arrived around 11am on a Wednesday our rooms were ready (thankfully!) so we were able to take the luggage up, freshen up a bit and head out to find lunch.
The hotel is located literally 1/2 block up from the river. A perfect location near all the restaurants on the riverside with a view and tables outside. You can easily walk from the hotel to the train station, both famous bridges, and shops all over old town.
We booked a Superior Double Room on the 4th floor. There is an elevator.
The room had a king bed, a desk with chair, and another comfy chair. We had a corner room, so plenty of windows. The bathroom is tiny! Decent closet with a safe and a small fridge with free water and a few creamers. There is NO air conditioning, but we were able to open the windows for a fairly good cross-breeze, and the overhead fan is efficient and quiet. There is street noise until about 10 - 11pm. We could hear the restaurants putting the tables/chairs up for the night, but after that slept quite well. When we had the windows closed there was minimal noise. Bed was comfy. Like many European hotels, they don't have a top sheet - only a comforter. (too hot for warmer weather with no a/c). I suggest using the blanket from the closet, or asking for another sheet if that would be a problem.
The restaurant attached to the hotel is Italian. The pizza and salad were great! And good wine and beer choices. A bit expensive (as is everything in Switzerland), but filling and tasty (and convenient). The breakfast is at a nearby hotel and was very good. It is not included, but had a great menu and good coffee.
Staff was friendly and helpful!
We would definitely stay here again.
