Worth the extra $$

Everything about this hotel was exceptional which one would expect given the price of rooms. From the hands on welcoming with our car and luggage to the awesome service from the staff differentiated this hotel from many other luxury hotels we have stayed at. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite (not sure what our original one would have looked like). Bed very comfortable and bathroom large and had everything you would need.
The breakfast was by far one of the best I've ever experienced throughout Europe. We didn't eat in the "fancy" restaurant, but at the bar/restaurant and the food was very good with enough choices too. The hotel is expensive as most of Switzerland is, but it delivered on all levels. The view was beautiful in spite of the rainy weather. Would definitely come back.

Room Tip: Do try and make reservations at any of the restaurants if you want to eat there.

The Mandarin Oriental Palace in Luzern is a true gem, it offered an exceptional experience marked by outstanding service and meticulous attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, ensuring every need was met with warmth and efficiency.

As a dog-friendly hotel, they went above and beyond to make our dog feel just as at home. The thoughtful amenities for our dog was amazing. The luxurious surroundings, combined with the breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne, made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

I had the opportunity to enjoy a few days in this beautiful hotel. The building is already spectacular, but the staff is what truly gives value to this hotel. I want to highlight the warm welcome from Michael, Gaia and Johannes who made me feel at home. To Alexander as concierge for his useful recommendations, and to Stefan for the delicious attention in the room. A stay to remember!

Exquisite hotel in an amazing lake-front location. I adored my lake view junior suite and definitely recommend splurging as the lake is just so stunningly beautiful and it’s such a treat to wake up every morning looking at it with your own private balcony. This location is much better than being in the main touristy hub as it’s a little quieter and has a beautiful promenade in front of it, lined by pruned chestnut trees, that goes all the way down this side of the lake. Plenty of restaurants and things to do and still only a short stroll from the main tourist drag. All the staff were perfect - friendly yet non-intrusive and very respectful. The breakfast was amazing with elegant and efficient service and lots of options at the buffet. Could be improved with a swimming pool and pay-per-view movies in suite, but pretty darn close to perfection! I also love the new renovations and that everything is brand-new yet tastefully complimentary to the original building’s architectural integrity.

This is a great hotel in a beautiful location. Yes, it is expensive but it is a 5-star hotel in one of the most expensive countries in the world so that is to be expected. I stayed with my family of four in connecting rooms.

Everything at this hotel is top-notch or close to it. The location is perfect and the rooms are new and nicely appointed. The common areas are stylish and expansive. I like that they managed to keep the old-world charm of the original building while updating everything to modern standards.

The service was generally what would be expected at a 5-star hotel, especially the two concierges I interacted with who were very helpful. There were a few service inconsistencies with the bell/valet staff but this was overshadowed by the generally great service received.

The food was good but not great. The breakfast buffet could use more variety or perhaps rotate items day-to-day. The a-la-carte breakfast options were very good. We ate dinner at Mozern which was ok. I thought there should have been more options on the menu.

My only real complaint is the lack of storage space in the bathrooms. I suggest installing some shelves under the sink or along a wall so guest can store their toiletries, etc. Also, more hooks and/or racks are needed to hang towels.

I look forward to returning.

The room was great, the majority of the staff were rude unfortunately. Not worth the money unless you have money to burn at $1000 a night they were going to charge me $7 for tap water in the Hotel Restaurant, it’s was hideous. We wanted to treat ourselves to an upscale hotel and were deeply disappointed! The cost for food in Lucerne was just ridiculous, almost $50 for a hamburger!! The town was quaint and beautiful but it was too rich for my blood. When I contacted hotel customer service they were very sorry for my experience and said I could book a stay and they would upgrade my room. So their compensation was for me to spend a thousand dollars a night, two thousand in airfare and they would upgrade my room. I was speechless lol. Do more research before you travel about the places you want to visit and stay in, all I wanted was to get some value for what I was spending and did not, would highly not recommend this hotel to anyone to stay in unless money is no object then you will enjoy it!!
