This is a great hotel in a beautiful location. Yes, it is expensive but it is a 5-star hotel in one of the most expensive countries in the world so that is to be expected. I stayed with my family of four in connecting rooms.
Everything at this hotel is top-notch or close to it. The location is perfect and the rooms are new and nicely appointed. The common areas are stylish and expansive. I like that they managed to keep the old-world charm of the original building while updating everything to modern standards.
The service was generally what would be expected at a 5-star hotel, especially the two concierges I interacted with who were very helpful. There were a few service inconsistencies with the bell/valet staff but this was overshadowed by the generally great service received.
The food was good but not great. The breakfast buffet could use more variety or perhaps rotate items day-to-day. The a-la-carte breakfast options were very good. We ate dinner at Mozern which was ok. I thought there should have been more options on the menu.
My only real complaint is the lack of storage space in the bathrooms. I suggest installing some shelves under the sink or along a wall so guest can store their toiletries, etc. Also, more hooks and/or racks are needed to hang towels.
I look forward to returning.
