Really we have a great vacation in Monopol Hotel, with helpful and friendly staff especially Mr. Lazio and Mr. Arnoldo , the room was very big and viewed to the lake and also location very near to train station and all restaurants...
We have visited hotel for the 1 night. During the check in process, we’ve found the hotel staff extremely helpful. Brigitte introduced us to the most important places we should see in Luzern, providing us with the very detailed description of what is really worth seeing and many tips about how to make our plan the most effective (thank you!). Views from the hotel room were also amazing, however, nothing beats the views from the rooftop bar.

We stayed 2 nights in Monopol Luzern and enjoyed the big room and the nice view directly to the lake. The location is in the middle of the city, so that you can walk wherever you like. Upstairs is a nice crowdy bar with a wonderful rooftop to overview the beauty of Luzern and the surrounding mountains.
With the assistance of the hotel reception we booked a tour by boat to the pilatus and spent a wonderful day there.
Unfortunately we lost the tickets on our way back from the reception to the room and could not find it anywhere. So we bought new tickets, but the reception staff could see, how sad and disappointed we have been about our loss.
On the departure day they informed us, that the hotel refunded the costs for the list tickets.
We are experienced travelers, but such a special gesture we never experienced before. Thanks a lot for your understanding.
Don't misunderstand : also without this highlight we recommend the place warmest!

By far, the most disgusting hotel I’ve visited.
WARNING: We tried to return the bedroom, it is not like in the pictures. It looks old a d dirty. In the pics looks amazing, not true.
WARNING: there was hair all around the toilet, which was also broken and the tank/flush did not work.
WARNING: the place at night is extremely dangerous (not only the hotel but the area), full of drug dealers. When we arrived, the doors were closed and the receptionist did not even say good night nor ask about our room number…
WARNING: the parking is the worst and most unsecured we have ever seen
It will look cheap and well located, like a good deal… do not fall in the same mistake I did.

For us every feedback is important. Our guest's satisfaction is our first priority and every feedback helps us to improve our service constantly. But it does not help us and all other hotels at all if you do not mention anything during your stay and also do not mention anything at Check Out when we ask you if everything was fine. You just checked out, went home and now you do write such a bad review without giving us the chance to react during your stay and find a solution. We are very disappointed because it is not fair.
The pictures of the rooms have been made 2 months ago and they are absolutely real. Our Hotel MONOPOL Lucerne is not modern and funky, it is an elegant and classy hotel. If you wish to stay in a new renovated room, we would recommend you to book one of our Deluxe-Design rooms equipped with a/c and nespresso machine for your next stay.
We do not understand your feedback regarding the cleanliness in the room. Our Housekeeping Manager checks every room before our guest’s arrival. If you would have informed us during your stay, it would have given us the chance to fix the problem if it is really true.
It is absolutely safe in Lucerne and around our Hotel and there are no drug dealers. Switzerland is the most secure country in the world. The entrance of the hotel as well as all the floors are under surveillance 24 hours and our main doors are closed during the night. Our night receptionist knows our guests and that is why he did not ask for your room number. This is what makes a good service in Switzerland to know guests. He did also say good night to you. As you were busy talking you could not hear that he said good night.
Also the parking in our courtyard is locked with a pale gate during the night. There is no access to the parking from outside. If our guests do not feel safe, they do have the possibility to contact our reception 24 hours.
For us it does sound like you did stay in another hotel, not at our Hotel MONOPOL Lucerne.

This is a great hotel in a beautiful city. The hotel is ideally located just a short walk from the train station and many local attractions. The multilingual, professional, and friendly reception staff ensured check-in was quick and easy, and also offered advice on many of the best tourist attractions. We stayed in a junior suite on the 6th floor with a fabulous view of the lake. The breakfast buffet had a really good selection to suit all tastes, with friendly staff on hand offering a selection of hot food straight from the kitchen. Breakfast on the front balcony is a must! This is definitely a hotel we'll return to when next in Luzern.
