We loved our stay at Hotel des Balances! The location couldn't be better—right in the heart of Luzern's charming and vibrant old town. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s warm energy and friendliness made us feel at home. Everyone we encountered was genuinely helpful and upbeat, setting the tone for a great experience.

As a family of four with two teenagers, we opted for two rooms—a suite and a standard double. The suite was spacious, perfect for our family headquarters where we gathered to plan each day’s adventures. Although the standard double was a bit compact (space lovers might find it too cozy), the suite more than made up for it, and my spouse and I enjoyed the luxury of its ample space. The rooms stayed comfortably cool despite clear skies and hot temperatures, in contrast to some other reviews.

Had we booked two smaller rooms, we could have easily made use of the hotel's beautiful parlor just off the reception area. We enjoyed relaxing there in between activities—the room is bright, inviting, and has a lovely balcony overlooking the river and the restaurant below.

Speaking of the restaurant, it was fantastic! Brunch was especially memorable, with a delicious selection that left us looking forward to each morning.

In short, our experience at Hotel des Balances was exceptional, and I’d happily return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

Fantastic location, very friendly staff, well maintained facilities, good breakfast spread (with some great croissants), and comfortable rooms. What more can a traveler ask for?
