Been here several times. Sitting outside is undoubtedly the best spot. Their salad genevois is delicious, wish I could recreate the dressing. I don’t wish to start a ‘best fondue’ argument, but it’s definitely in the top 5 in Genève. The staff are lovely, they are sweet to our many kids and I watch them chill with the local of all ages. Worth a visit.

Strangely enough, the old town is not really an easy place to find something to eat if you are looking for Swiss food other than fondue and raclette. They have that too, but so much more. It is a bit more pricey, but totally worth it and you pay for atmosphere and an institution as much as anything else. Less touristy than the one just around the corner, and it is really interesting to pay attention to what is going on around you. Lovely to sit outside when the weather permits it. I had veal with rösti, absolutely excellent, and a great carpaccio of pineapple with mint, so refreshing and nothing I have found anywhere else.

After ten years I have eaten again in this great brasserie. Even the same friendly waiters worked. They have an excellent French onion soup and a phenomenal fondue. Lamb meals and vegetarian meals were also great. Brasserie is located in the very center of the old town on a great location. The only objection is that the prices are still a bit too high.

We had the filets de perches «meunière», beurre citronné et pommes frites and wine for lunch. The food and wine tasted amazing. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Geneva old town. We sat outside in the charming atmosphere and the service was attentive and great.

Right in old town Geneva, a quaint café where you can enjoy eating outdoors under café umbrellas or indoors under an array of military caps. If you are going to splurge, this is the place to splurge. Certainly there are tourists (most likely the ones ordering fondue) but mostly were locals and regulars. We were greeted by patrons sitting next to us with Bonjour, bon appetit! So, as tourists, we heard about the fondue which didn’t disappoint. My next fondue party will also include fondue with mushroom complemented with cold meats and french fries to dip. We also had the french onion soup- onolicous- only possible improvement was if they had Maui onions. Also had foie gras, one of the best we ever had- flavorful and not too strong- complimented beautifully with fresh cantaloupe. Finally, we had steak tartare which we could choose level of spiciness. The spice was mustard added by the waiter so medium spice was just right. You might get a sticker shock when you get your bill, helps to remember that no tip is needed to be added.
