We bought online tickets but still very difficult to find everything as there are no signs and many rules about entry times and process. Very disappointed that there were no historical information brochures so you can know what you are looking at in various buildings. Walking up the tower was fun, though. Definitely recommend that. Cathedral, Baptistery and cemetary were also worth seeing but would be better with information. An audio tour is recommended.

Clearly one of the “must do” visits if you’re in the area. The site was larger than we expected, pleasant to stroll around, with beautiful buildings.
After a while you struggle to keep your eye on what is really vertical, with our conclusion being that all the buildings have tilted to some extent, but the bell tower is the star.

Very peaceful and relaxing stroll from our apartment to the Torre Piazza. You walk past an amazing array of good quality and reasonably priced restaurants.

Pisa is also a good base from which to visit Florence and rest of Tuscany. We purchased a 5 day rail card for €49 which enabled us to travel anywhere and any when we wanted.

Beautiful monument.
We booked tickets to climb the tower on line as we didn't want to 'miss out'.
Lockers are provided for your bags prior to joining the queue for your assigned time.
The view from the top was worth the climb.
There are public toilets (1 euro) within the square of miracles.
So pleased we took time to visit.

I didn’t quite know what to expect, but the magic of the leaning tower of Pisa and the cathedral and baptistery nearby for me, were just indescribable. It was beautiful! Not only the uniqueness of the fact that the tower is leaning, but its construction and facade really are quite magnificent. I was overboard and overjoyed. we did a nighttime visit first, when the crowds were not so large, and then a Sunday morning visit when it was quite busy. No wonder it is one of the modern wonders of the world.
