Owner description: The view of Mount Etna and the sea beyond is absolutely superb at Taormina's 10,000-seat ancient Greek amphitheater, which was erected in the third century BC and expanded by the Romans.

A step back in time to Greek and Roman architecture. This theatre is well worth a visit . Fabulous views of the coast and also of Mt Etna.

This theatre that started out as Greek structure and was then added on by the Romans is a must see while visiting Taormina. Don't rush your visit. Take a seat and admire the structure itself and of course the breathtaking views of the coast and Mt Etna.

The Ancient Theatre of Taormina is very well preserved. I enjoyed the video which shows how the theatre looked back in the day- absolutely spectacular. It's rather disappointing that tourists carve their names on prickly pears. It's best to go in spring or autumn as it gets pretty hot during the day.

We were lucky enough to be on holiday when the Sicilian Jazz Orchestra were playing it was a brillant evening even though it was still plus 30 degrees in the heat!!!

Got here the day when it was free, saving €10 each. Lovely walk around and the view is fabulous. I think €10 is a bit much but you could spend a good hour there.
