Description: The name Dopolavoro, which means 'after work' in Italian, says it all. After a day exploring the labyrinth of Venice's treasures, after a long immersion in the pleasures of our Spa, after all this marvellous 'work', it is time to take a rest amid the flavours of the cooking of Chef Giancarlo Perbellini, from Verona. Guests are received in the original structure of a building constructed in 1936. Today it is the realm of one of the most acclaimed chefs in Italy, 'an artisan cook' as he likes to describe himself, who combines a mastery of the tradition with virtuosity and measure to renew the country's great cuisine. The Dopolavoro Dining Room has been awarded its first Michelin star by Michelin Guide 2016 in December 2015, after only 6 months from official opening. A great success for Chef Giancarlo Perbellini and Federico Belluco, who coordinates the brigade. In particular, in the Michelin Guide 2016 two stars have been assigned to "Casa Perbellini" - Chef Perbellini's own restaurant in Verona opened one year ago - and the first star to the Dopolavoro.

Wow! Okay, I’ll say it again. Wow. We had a wonderful dining experience at Dopolavoro. The whole experience of taking a shuttle to a private resort island was impressive. The restaurant was cute and romantic. The service was impeccable. Alessandro and team made our entire evening with their smiles and joking! They made my husband feel special and it was a wonderful experience.

The food. Yum. Mouth is watering just thinking about it. We loved the amuse bouche and “snacks” from the kitchen. We could not get enough. Despite having the ten course meal and being full, we somehow managed to keep going. How could we stop??! From the first bite we knew that all other dining experiences would be tainted with the memory of DopoLavora. If you have the opportunity to dine here, take it.

We had lunch on a Saturday. Picked the 5 course option with wine pairing. About $300 a person This was probably the best meal I have ever had. I'm a cook, foodie and a food snob, so that should frame the statement appropriately. Service, as expected was impeccable for this 1 star Michelin restaurant. we spent about 2 hrs eating lunch. Must have gotten 10 in-between courses little goodies, raging from amazing to are you frigging kidding me!

We were staying at the JW Marriott on the Island where the restaurant is located, but even if you are coming on the free shuttle service from San Marco Sq, its only a 20min ride to the island.

We had the smaller tasting menu. The food was great and the restaurant deserves its reputation and Michelin star. Staff are also lovely and it was a marvellous evening.

Hard to believe that this island could have a Michelin star restaurant but it does! The food and and service were excellent! Plan to spend a couple of hours enjoying this experience.

We booked at table at Dopolavoro as a grand finale meal to our trip to Italy. It did not disappoint and is well deserving of its Michelin star. We enjoyed the 5 course meal, which was more than enough food and offered a great variety of dishes. If you're up for a 3+ hour experience, I'd go with the 10 course - we had a flight the next morning. Our favorite dishes were the red prawn and the ravioli. The lamb was good as well, and the wine pairings were perfect. Service was attentive, as you would expect. The only two drawbacks were connected to the price, which is already quite high: they charge for the welcome glass of prosecco without mentioning the price - this is usually complimentary in other similar restaurants; and there appeared to be a "cover charge" of some sort - we saw this at other restaurants in Italy, but thought it was a symptom of tourist traps. In any event, the food is unquestionably top rate and makes this restaurant well worth a visit. Be prepared to spend, the cost is high even in comparison to other Michelin-starred restaurants.
