My husband and I booked through Secret Escapes to stay in the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa for a two-night stay in April 2016. From the moment we arrived and stepped off of the private, shuttle speed boat, after a very early start and a long, exhausting journey, we were made to feel like absolute royalty.

Upon check-in, we were informed that we had been upgraded to a junior suite, which was a lovely surprise and, as my husband is a Platinum Marriott member, were offered coffee and biscuits from the bar. The suite itself was beautiful, spotlessly clean, comfortable and luxurious, with an amazing view of the gorgeous grounds from the balcony. Secret Escapes had also arranged for prosecco and fruit to be delivered to the room, which we really appreciated!

The hotel and grounds are stunning, it's really like being in your own little paradise. We spent some time wandering around the island in the glorious sunshine before jumping back on the boat to sample the delights of Venice, but unfortunately did not have time to use the spa or visit any of the restaurants (we'll just have to save that for next time!). The rooftop pool looked lovely but in April it was a bit too cold to swim.

I have stayed in many lovely hotels and have to say that the breakfast at the JW Marriott was one of the best I have ever experienced. I don't think I've ever seen such a wide choice of superb food - there really was something to suit every taste. I will never forget the Eggs Benedict prepared especially for me by the chef there - they were absolutely delicious! In fact, each staff member we came into contact with was friendly and efficient - they couldn't do enough for us.

It's not a problem that this hotel is a short boat ride away from St Marks, in fact, once I spent some time in busy Venice I was glad to escape back to this quiet, tranquil oasis for a bit of peace and quiet! The memory of our time at the JW Marriott will always stay with me and I would absolutely love to go back again - maybe for a longer trip next time so we can make the most of this amazing hotel.

Dear JayneyR, thanks so much for your review. We appreciate your generous comments about our friendly and efficient staff, beautiful and luxurious guest rooms, amazing views, stunning grounds and superb food.

We hope your next visit with us will be a longer one – there is so much to do at our magical Isola delle Rose. When the team and I were organising the excursions that we wanted to provide our guests, we thought of all the things that would be part of the ultimate travel experience of Italy. From interactive cooking classes with Chef Micki to a tour of a traditional Murano glass-making factory, we wanted to showcase our passion for Italy and highlight some of the wonderful and fascinating aspects of its culture and history. We hope you will be able to check out our exciting activity program during your next stay.

Thank you for choosing JW Marriott Venice and we hope to see you and your husband again soon.

All the best,
Enrique Tasende, General Manager

Dear Wowmargaret, thank you so much for writing a review. We appreciate your kind comments about our lovely hotel grounds, relaxing atmosphere and clean rooms.

I hope you had the chance to take part in on our Olive Oil Tasting tour during your stay with us. We love explaining to our guests the history of our 100 olive trees and how they grow. We also showcase different olive oils, including our own which is the only one produced in Venice and exclusively served at our Dopolavoro Dining Room.

Thank you for choosing the JW Marriott Venice and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Set on its own island, twenty minutes from St Marks, the hotel is the most perfect retreat. Elegant, calm and set in beautiful grounds with a sophisticated mix of modern and historic buildings. Most memorable of all is the service. Charming, attentive and genuinely friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and always delivered with true Venetian flair.
Perfecto.

Dear David F, thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are grateful for your generous comments about our hotel being a perfect retreat, our elegant and beautiful grounds and charming and genuinely friendly customer service.

We also appreciate your lovely feedback about our sophisticated mix of modern and historic buildings. We are so proud of the beautiful design of our 19 buildings on our private island, which are the work of the renowned Italian architect Matteo Thun. His main focus was to integrate the contemporary elements of the existing buildings to showcase their unique history and personality, while at the same time enhancing the architectural heritage of our location.

Thank you for choosing to stay at the JW Marriott Venice and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Dear Muthu M, thanks so much for your generous feedback. We appreciate your kind comments about our convenient shuttle service, warm hospitality and great customer service.

I am delighted to hear that you found our vegetable garden interesting. At our resort we believe in fresh, wholesome and organic ingredients for our culinary offering. We carefully select all our organic fruit and vegetables from local farmers, as well as using some produce from our own botanic garden. We feel that this really makes a difference in the quality of the food that we provide to our guests.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

This was truly one of my favorite parts of my trip to Venice! The rooms are nice. The breakfast was amazing. The main difficulty was accessing the hotel if you did not do the private water taxi. The main ferry over and then the hotel water taxi over was a bit of a challenge with luggage. It's best to travel light. But other than that the hotel's water taxi over to the central location was about a 20 minute ride, but was very peaceful. I actually wish we would have spent more time at the hotel during the day to enjoy its beauty.

Dear Whitnee B, thanks so much for your positive feedback. We appreciate your generous comments about our beautiful location, amazing breakfast and peaceful shuttle service.

The next time you visit us I recommend spending time at our rooftop restaurant and pool, Sagra. I think it is one of the best vantage points to admire breathtaking 360-degree views of Venice and the Lagoon. It is also the ideal place to watch the beautiful Venetian sunset. Many guests tell us how much they enjoy spending Happy Hour there while indulging in a glass of prosecco and some tapas from our Cicchetti Menu. It is an experience not to be missed.

Thank you for choosing the JW Marriott Venice and we hope to welcome you back again soon.
