On arrival we were greeted by Lorenzo (Son of the owners), who offered us seating in either the larger or smaller dining area, we took the smaller. It was very comfortable and gave the feel of a quality restaurant. We chose a couple of anchovy appetizers that were excellent, My wife tried the Ragu special which tasted superb, as did my fish special.
Wine choice was extensive and the red we chose was medium strength and a good compliment to our meals, the reason for not an excellent was the pana cotta had very little taste and lacked firmness, more like a creme caramel. We also found the level of service dropped dramatically the later the evening went on, not a great surprise as it was getting late on a Saturday night.
Overall we would certainly go back, the food was good, service generally excellent and it was interesting seeing the combination of an Italian chef (owner) working with his US wife and their son, very much a family restaurant offering a quality product.

Perfect evening. The welcome, the warmth, the knowledge of the staff on food and wine, and the food itself, all were just right. We didn't want to leave, and when we did we were given recommendations to other restaurants as Al Covo was closed the next two nights. But we will be back next time we are in Venice.
The desserts are wonderful.

Owner Diane, a Texas native, greeted us at the door with great enthusiasm. This is a locals restaurant very close to the Riva Schiavoni, but still off the beaten path. Wonderful service, attentive and friendly servers and good food!

The food and owners were fantastic. We are going back this week and cannot wait. We all had the specials but the place was full of locals who were ordering their favorites. Lovely evening for us and our teenage boys.

Not much more to add to the title. We were very well looked after and would strongly recommend you go for wine by the glass to accompany the food. Great choice of fish and a really lovely atmosphere slightly off the beaten track. However the competition is fierce in Venice and we found the even smaller places a bit more to our liking
