Hotel Palazzo Abadessa is a first rate historic property close to all main amenities in Venice, but yet it feels secluded and private. We hired a private boat taxi directly from the airport to the hotel entrance - which provided a fantastic start to our weekend. The hotel itself is intimate and staff are very attentive to the small number of guests. We stayed in a junior suite which was spectacular, with antique furniture and beautiful silk wallpaper. Breakfast was perfect. The only minor gripe is that the ensuite did not have a bath - which would have been welcome after hours walking around Venice.

Myself and husband stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it proved to be the perfect choice for a romantic stay .
Excellent location away from the crowds but still within walking distance of all the major sights .
We found all the staff friendly and helpful and the complimentary bottle of prosecco in the room and the afternoon tea and cake were very welcome . Also we happened to be there on a Saturday night when they offered complimentary hot snacks and an apperitif.
There is a charming little courtyard and garden which must be lovely to sit in when the weather’s warm , unfortunately not during our February visit !
The breakfast buffet food was of a high quality with fresh fruit salad , breads , pastries , cakes , cereals , cheeses , meats etc . If you like a cooked breakfast you might be disappointed . Also they served good cappuccino which I loved and they would always offer a second cup .
I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return one day . It really added to our magical , romantic Venetian trip.

We weren't expecting such a beautiful home/hotel for our stay in Venice. Couldn't have wished for anything more. Stunning decor, extremely helpful staff and lovely breakfast - great location too. Small bathroom but it didn't matter as the actual bedroom was so beautiful. Would definitely highly recommend.

Hotel Abadessa was a wonderful stay and perhaps the best of our trip! Remember that Venice does not have autos so access is by Water Taxi or on foot. I recommend the Water Taxi! The staff, the accommodations, the food and the total experience were truly remarkable. I highly recommend the Hotel Abadessa for your next stay in Venice!

If you are looking for an authentic Venetian baroque experience for a decent budget, Palazzo Abadessa is really one of the best choices in Venice. The hotel is well situated (around 10 min walk from Piazza San Marco), in a calm street, but close to a large avenue full of commerces.

Our Junior Suite was great, I mean after doing some museums and getting back to the hotel, I had the feeling that I was sleeping in some room inside a museum, the traditional furniture, the ceilling paintings, the chandelier, the carpets -- all these détails contribute to a unique experience.

I mean, if you are looking for a luxurious hotel or something to feel like home, then Palazzo Abadessa might not be for you, but if you want to feel like living in a 16th century Venitian Palace, then you are in the right place.

Our Room Number: 23

Room Tip: Book a suite, you won't regret your spending !
