We arrived via train and took the vaporetto to the San Zaccaria stop (just above the Piazza San Marco). From there it was an easy walk, but you have to dodge the crowds.
The hotel is peaceful, despite all the pedestrian traffic outside.
Our first room was quite small. I could not fit in the shower! The next morning, the manager gave us a spacious room that was quite comfortable.
Breakfast was very good, and we were greeted warmly each morning. The staff were all helpful and pleasant during our stay.
The desk suggested Hosteria Numero Uno for a meal. It is is close by and in a quiet corner. Good food and not pricey.
The Piazza San Marcos and the neighborhood quiet down after dusk.More
