Perhaps that is how they've learned to bleed you dry without you realising! We were originally invited in by a seemingly lovely old man, who informed us that the restaurant had been run by three generations of the same family. We were dubious when we noticed no one else was eating in the restaurant, while other establishments were full but having not found anywhere else to eat, decided to give it a try. We asked what they recommended based on our likes and dislikes and they directed us to certain items. BIG, HUGE, mistake!! We then looked at the wine list. Had pages from the front of the menu fallen out, we thought, after clocking the cheapest bottle being priced at €28. We ordered two glasses of house white and I'm not exaggerating when I say we've had better from Asda, three for a tenner. These two small glasses cost over twelve euros! The food arrived, looking fabulous but tasting mediocre. We were offered desserts, which we declined, instead asking for the bill. They continued to offer grappa, limoncello etc during which time the waiter was totaling our bill. The waiter was unsure what to charge for the monkfish I ate (priced at €8 per hundred grams) as they hadn't weighed it, so he asked the old man who said a figure which made even the waiter stop and question him, shaking his head as he walked away. I had no more than two fork fulls of monkfish but stupidly fell for the weight charge as the fish is complete, bones and all when pricing. Don't fall for this! Our bill came to over €90. They'd charged us €16 for two side salads, bread and bruschetta we hadn't asked for, and almost €10 service charge. Other than bringing the food and adding the bill, the old man and waiter had stood watching tv in the corner of the restaurant the whole time we were there. A woman and younger man turned up, must have been family, they left after a while. Once we left they locked the door after us, probably having covered expenses for the evening by robbing us blind.
