My husband and I stayed in the Red Room for our honeymoon. Although it was a bit small, the decor was opulent and made us feel as if we were in a Venetian Palace. The hotel is very close to a Vaporetto stop with a few nice local restaurants near by but otherwise withdrawn from the busier parts of the city. The staff was helpful and the breakfast service was very nice.

Unfortunately we couldnt get the red room which we actually booked but it was a pretty cute rooftop room, for a couple really worth to try this lovely atmosphere.
Also for the price its absolutely worth it and the area where the hotel is located in is just gorgeous.

So far the best hotel we stayed in Italy. Located next to San Stae vaporetto (river bus) stop, two stops from Ferrovia. Quiet neighbourhood; few nice restaurants around as well as beautiful artisan shops where we got out exquisite Pierrot mask from guy named Hama, and elegant jewellery. The area isn’t much touristy either. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly with getting around, booking the concert tickets and even allowing few nice extras: particularly can mention Phillip and Costa. Free breakfast was included, with fresh juices and plenty of varieties. TV channels included BBC and CNN. Room was a bit small, but comfortable with the mini-bar and safe. Extra pillows were much appreciated as well as properly functioning air conditioner. The room being soundproofed, there was no street noise at late hours. Hotel is 100 m close to the Grand Canal with many nooks and crannies for the romantic evening /night stroll. No complaints whatsoever.

If you want to experience old Venice charm with modern hospitality then this is the hotel for you. When our family of 4 checked in we were upgraded to a two room suite. It was beautifully decorated in the old Venetian style, it immediately took you back in time. It was clean, had good beds, had more than enough room for all four of us and the adults even got a separating door. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of the city but yet close enough to all the major attractions. The neighbourhood has a grocery store, several restaurants, a gondola ride station and two gelato stores. The hotel serves breakfast in the morning. Although its not like our breakfasts back in North America it has plenty of options to get you going on your day and everything it serves is delicious and fresh. Finally, what sets this hotel apart from most that we have been to is the staff. They were all friendly, helpful, informative and patient to listen to our many questions. I would not have a second thought in staying at the Al Duca again and I truly hope to see it again.

Room Tip: I would avoid the two rooms on the ground floor by the elevator. All others are great.

We travelled all over Italy and this was our favorite hotel. The front desk staff is the best. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready but they found a room that was ready and allowed us into our room. They provided directions and offered to make reservations at their favorite places. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. We needed a private water taxi at 4:00 am. They not only made the arrangements for the taxi to pick us up, they walked us to the docks and made sure that we were taken care of. The rooms were large, clean and quiet. The hotel is off the beaten path from the touristy noise and crowds which was so nice for relaxation.
