Stayed here in February and had a wonderful time. The staff were very welcoming and had good advice about the local area. The rooms were clean and had all necessary amenities. We had breakfast included and it did not disappoint. There was a wide choice and it was lovely to eat with a view!

I’ve stayed at the hotel since its opening in 2009- sadly the service has become sub-standard at best. Especially for a “5 Star Hotel.”

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

THE GOOD
The hotel, since it’s inception, has been spectacular at location (across the Grand Canal from St. Marks), ease of transportation (within a minute of three ways to travel and cross the Grand Canal), and spaciousness of their rooms. None of that has changed in the last 8 years of staying at the Sina Centurion Palace. Those remain an overwhelming endorsement for a return visit.

However...

THE BAD
The service has become lackluster, disinterested and mildly disdainful. While our concierge was welcoming, the front desk staff nearly always seemed too busy to be of service. Even if that service was simply storing their bulky key which they require to be stored. One more visible sigh from the front desk and I was going to lose it. Ultimately, nobody was particularly attentive or even mildly interested. We were almost never greeted or addressed except by the concierge. The exception, when we had bags coming in or going out. Then we had attention. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the expectation of a tip.

THE UGLY
There really isn’t anything. It came down the to being at a beautiful hotel in a beautiful place with an awesome location but made to feel like you were an unwelcomed nuisance.

Let me reiterate this was not my experience during my stays in 2010, 2013 or 2015. Hopefully they can nudge the service back into a five star category to match the hotel.

Excellent staff, friendly efficient and helpful, however having to cross to SAN Marco can add to the expense, would advise you purchase a pass for time you intend to stay , view across the canal superb. Rooms are a good size, very modern decor considering the age of the palace, quiet location.

Room Tip: 109 on the first floor was over looking the courtyard, quiet, my friend was at the front overlooking the canal and the noise started around 6am although the view was beautiful.

We,ve spent a night in this especially beautiful and good condition palace. Staff is polite, reception is well trained, our waiter in the retaurant was fantastic. Unfortunately the room interior design was very difficult to understand. Modern, colorful and over reacted. Some areas are poor, some are very used.

Room Tip: Please clean and paint the room. Also the mini bar area ultra poor! Bath is worned.

We are glad to learn about your satisfacition with our Service: all Staff do thank you so much for the appreciated compliments.
As far as the interior is concerned, all our rooms are individually designed, each room is unique, and the style is the contemporary one; it is subjective, people might like it or not.
We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
Best regards.

This hotel is in a perfect position; one side you can sit by the Grand canal watching the world/gondolas go by which is a fantastic experience and on the other side you are straight into the marvellous little passage ways of Dorsoduro, there are also 2 vaporetto stops very near by. Our room was gorgeous and very spacious (which is unusual in Venice) with an amazing view straight onto the Grand canal. The staff were absolutely lovely, extremely polite, friendly and very helpful at all times, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast buffet had an excellent selection of hot and cold foods and there was plenty of choice. Loved every minute of our stay and would definitely stay here again.
