We found this restaurant by accident. It's on the south side of Dorsoduro looking out over the channel to Giudecca and near the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute.
Despite having no booking, we were given a seat with shade overlooking the channel.
We had scallops for starters and for the mains we had roast octopus and red snapper. The red snapper was presented in what I can only describe as large ravioli parcels made from black rice with a red snapper filling. They were very crispy and tasted superb. The octopus was cooked to perfection. We shared a dessert and it was more than sufficient for two people.
The wine list was extensive to put it mildly and many wines were at stratospheric prices. We choose a reasonably priced Sansonina Lugana that complemented our seafood.
The weather was perfect for outdoor eating, even though it was October and the whole lunch was a wonderfully relaxing experience. It is not an inexpensive place to eat, but is good value for money in our view and the excellent food and excellent service make us give it full marks.
