We went two nights within the week we were in Bolzano – once was not enough for our group. The large stone, wood- fired oven is kept very busy and during the ore- and post- Christmas days a reservation was a must.
Over the course of two visits, out party of six had about nine different pizzas and they were all great. The dough, the baking, the ingredients all near perfection, topped only by the well- known best place for pizza in Italy (Napoli.) In addition, some pasta, salads, carpaccio and other nibbles were found to be first- class. And they had Andechs beers on tap.
The atmosphere was festive on both occasions, a really nice buzz going on. We could only get the earliest table both visits, and the spaces filled up quickly.
Service was a bit slow, but the place was packed to the point that every few minutes they were turning people away. There were a couple of out- of- sequence items, e.g. starter served after the main, but no big deal. For the food quality, the service lapses can be put up with.
Overall: go, enjoy great pizza, don’t worry the service lapses.
