This is the cheapest hotel I could find when I stayed in Milano
It's 10min away from the Central Station
Their elevator freaked me out: it's the old type of manual elevators where you need to close manually the door...

The rooms are small, the beds comfortable, very clean
The toilets are shared

I'm a young woman and all that matters to me is to find a cheap place where I can sleep
If you're not looking for this, then this hotel isn't what you really need

Near the central train station. The receptionists are polite and helpful. The rooms offer the basic and are clean. The tighter lift I have ever used in my life hahaha. Fair price.

Close to very good restaurants!

Nice hotel near the center and central station, clean room, clean showers. Shower is not in the room, and on the floor, but we were satisfied. I'll be back there!

This hotel is set in a side street about halfway between the railway station and the historic/shopping centre of Milan. No food or drinks are available but there is a selection of inexpensive restaurants and cafe bars nearby. The reception and rooms are on the middle floor which is accessed by way of a small lift from street level. Anyone with walking difiiculties may find this a problem. We found the hotel was an inexpensive and an adequate base for a two nights break.

Room tip: Check the access procedure if you have any sort of physical difficulty

This 'hotel' would have got a higher rating if it had been cheaper and advertised itself as what it actually is; a hostel. It would be fine as a hostel and priced accordingly, but it's a rip-off when they're charging hotel prices. My single room was advertised as having a tv, but there was no tv and clearly there had never been a tv. It did have a basin and a fan though which was nice in the 30 degree heat. The bed was a small double which I thought was great, but it turned out that it was so uncomfortable it stopped me from sleeping; it was obviously well-used and it felt like springs were poking me through the fabric - in the end I slept upside down to avoid them! I brought earplugs and would recommend you do too; the rumbling from the trams and traffic outside went on 'til past 1am. The reception staff were pleasant and the bathrooms were clean, but hot water was not guaranteed; one night I had a shower so cold it was painful, and frankly one night out of five is too many for 50 euro a night.

Hotel Arno and Hotel Eva are opposite each other on the fourth floor (so look for the Hotel Eva sign on the street outside); I saw the lift working once when I was there but on every other occasion it did not seem to be in operation so I never got to use it and had to brave the stairs with my suitcase! The location is great if, like me, you're mostly using Milan as a base for the train connections. Taking into account the many traffic lights, Hotel Arno is 11 minutes leisurely walk from the door to the station entrance, with a Carrefour supermarket right round the corner. I would say with all the traffic lights it took me about 40 minutes to walk from the hotel to the Duomo but there's a tram outside and a Metro station not too far away.

The toilets have no soap which is annoying; even the grottiest hostels I've stayed in provide soap for washing your hands after using the toilet! The reception staff used the communal bathrooms too, so I can only assume they went back to touching the room keys etc without washing their hands.

This place would have been acceptable if it had been around the 30 Euro a night mark, but for 50 Euro I was left feeling cheated. I wouldn't recommend it if you can afford better, but if like me you're low on funds and need to be near the station then it's bearable for a few nights!
