This was a very interesting visit within the academy. Contains great Italian art including stunning master pieces from Piero Della Francesca and Caravaggio, well worth a visit. Enjoy

The Pinoteca is housed in the Palace of Brera, home to many cultural institutions. The Pinoteca itself has a wonderful interior, with many rooms being painted entirely in beautiful deep colours. This provides for a spectacular backdrop for the paintings. Amongst many great medieval and (early) renaissance paintings, the set of scenes from Venice are my favorites.

worth the visit and nicely arranged according to schools rather than plain chronology; modern and well curated but the hit rate of masterpizzas was very low

Get here early morning (after 9:30 am) before any queues and you will be rewarded with a calm yet extraordinary viewing of the art treasures that are contained within. The clever and elegant positioning of the art and your close proximity to it elevates the experience. I like that the whole building is a living testament that is devoted to the display and study of art. The Brera area is an enjoyable study in its own right.
