The proprietors of this property are most likely the nicest people in the world! They will do anything to make you feel welcome. I stayed for a week while I was studying Italian and they could not have been kinder. If I was studying, they'd make me a snack (without my asking). I had lovely simple dinners at night several times, with fresh vegetables from their garden.

The house is on a hill above Stresa which I picked because I wanted to be out of the tourist center. There is a lovely path to walk to town which takes about 15- 20 minutes and is eminently
doable unless you have some kind of true walking difficulty. It's true it's uphill on the way back but there's your antidote to all that Italian pasta! There is NOT a bus, however Albino will kindly come pick you up in town if you call him. All in all if you are touring the area, it's probably better to have a car if you stay here but if you are about a leisurely stay, it's not absolutely necessary.

The view is spectacular, the rooms are very clean and pleasantly furnished. There are 3 which vary in size- mine was the biggest with a large bed, big balcony, small bathroom but very acceptable. The breakfasts are large spreads with eggs from their own chickens, meats, cheese, pastries, coffee, juice- generally no need to eat lunch after that!

Small children would have fun here because there is a backyard with a small kiddie pool to play in and by the way, there is a large park in Stresa proper with lots of climbing structures for kids.

It's true they only speak Italian ( or Ukranian or Russian as the wife is from Kiev) but they use a translation app to communicate and will try hard to help you. You can connect with them by e-mail to make the reservation and Albino responds promptly. But don't tarry- it is a popular place and fills up quickly so make your reservation well ahead of time.

I love to get to know people when I travel and you will feel welcomed into the family here. The price is also extremely reasonable. So if you want an optimal B&B experience, stay here!!

Wonderful, tranquil setting on hilltop with breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore from your private terrace. Spacious and extremely clean room and bath. The proprietors, Albino and Valentine, were hands-on and kept the lodgings and grounds in fine order. Sumptuous made to order breakfast by Valentine with eggs from their chickens, local fruits, cheeses, prosciutto, home made brioche, omelets and cappuccino. Excellent value. Some facility with Italian helpful. Car useful for access to neighboring sites and restaurants. Refresh Grand Prix driving skills on short downhill drive to SS33 (via Sempione) that hugs the lake. Surprises abound, like a 5 minute walk to a small 18th C frescoed church. Value +, an experience that would be a pleasure to revisit at our earliest opportunity.

We had been to Stresa some years ago and loved the ambience of the area - Lago Maggiore.

Having to overnight between Milan and Lucerne, we chose Stresa again, and booked this B & B sight unseen over the net.

Arriving on a rainy evening, having spent some time 'struggling' with Garmin GPS to find the Madonna we arrived somewhat stressed, not willing to head out for a meal at that late hour - on a sunday evening..

Our most gracious hosts whipped up a delicious Italian spaghetti meal, complete with wine, bread and sweets for which we were most grateful (VERY reasonably priced I might add !)

The room was clean, wrm , with OK shower and bed reasonable comfy.

WiFi was intermittent, but OK in the living area. Breakfast was typical italian , but delicious.
Our hosts spoke little English, howervere e were able to communicate with a language app via the internet - worked well.

A very pleasant overnight stay, but a few extra days would have been great !

Off street parking was good also.

Room tip: All rooms have a view over the lake, but front rooms are better (but more expensive)

We stayed for 7 nights with a 2 year old and 5 months old children. Excellent place, rich breakfast, plenty of place for the kids to play. Nice arranged baby cribs. The hosts are really child friendly providing all the assistance you could get. Car parking inside. You can walk with a stroller all over the place. Highly recommended.

The accommodation is situated a bit away from the centre of Stresa. By foot it takes at least a half an hour. There is a bus connection (not very frequent though).
When we arrived the feelings were a bit mixed. It took a while before we were heard and got in. We were allowed to park our car safely on the property (behind the gates).
The apartment however was a rather spacious and in good condition. A biggish bedroom and a bathroom quite big as well. A view over the lake was really impressive. The apartment was very clean - in the morning we noticed some ants on the floor, but in Italy you can expect things like that.
The breakfast was served in the downstairs. Coffee, croissant, egg, yoghurt, salami, cheese and bread. Nice package.
The italian grandfather who served us was wery helpful. We did not have a common language but he really tried his best to help us.
The verdict:
+: very good and friendly service, magnificent view, parking space
-: a bit away from the centre of Stresa, only one channel available on TV (perhaps we were not experienced enough to operate the device)
