It's difficult when you have to eat out every night in a foreign city. Sometimes you like the look of a place and it's a disappointment. Not in this case. La Buca looked like a 'proper' Italian restaurant. Smart but not formal - never seen a Vespa in a restaurant before - fun idea. Waiters very smart and giving excellent service. Food was not stellar but very good and reasonably priced for Rome. Wine suggestions excellent (I noticed they recommended the reasonably priced wines not the top price) Very nice atmosphere probably because all the customers were happy! I would suggest booking in busier seasons - this was March and it was full.
All in all a very good experience.

Visited here twice on two separate occasions in Rome. Nice restaurant with good ambiance and the food is delicious.

This restaurant is recommended in travel guides and is central to many tourist sites and hotels. For all that it maintains a wonderfully local flair with Roman cuisine that is excellent. Our waiter talked us into the Tiramisu and we were not disappointed.

This is a cosy restaurant in a good location. The menu is attractive and well priced. However the cooking just wasn’t up to scratch. The zucchini flower was cooked in far too heavy batter and perhaps not very fresh oil. The seafood linguine was too al dente and the sauce not exciting. The meat in the ossi bucco was tough and underseasoned . It ought to be tender and melting off the bone. Panacotta very ordinary and served with two tiny tasteless alpine strawberries. Perhaps it was an off night in the restaurant. This restaurant could be so much better with just a bit more skill in the kitchen.

Food was average. Waiters and lady boss ignored us the whole time just because we were Asians? Terrible service.

Lady boss and waiters pretended not to see us and rather serve other tables and we were left waiting even though we called for them a few times. And wow we had to pay for “service charge”.

Bad service bad attitude. Totally spoilt my last dinner experience in Rome. Would not recommend to visit - you might just receive the same treatment.
