Great experience. Buy the tickets at the roman forum or online to cut queues. Get the group guided tour which is good enough. Check the timings of these tours in advance.

I definitely recommend the guided tour. We entered the colosseum with our Roma pass and then we purchased the tour inside the colosseum. The tour is available in a bunch of different languages and the tour guides are very knowledgable. The area outside the colosseum is full of tourist traps and people selling cheap goods.

Cool and historic place in rome. You have to pay admission and there is security control. Easily accessible via Metro.

It is so fantastic what they built 200 years ago! And to know how their "theater life" was at those times. One is tempting to compare what we are building today and how we enjoy life today.

Although the weather was horrendous (thunder lightening and torrential rain) we had a fantastic time. Stephano our guide was knowledgable, funny and got you straight in without queing. We also had tickets for the Roman forum and pallentine hill but the weather was too bad. Overall spent about an hour and half with the guide and then could explore on our own.
