La cornucopia is by the Tiber, just opposite the Isola Tibernia. We were looking for lunch midway through a long walk on a hot day and there it was, with a vine-covered terrace and cool breeze.
We noticed that the portions were large and so opted for mains only. I had porcini fettuccine, and my wife chose lasagne. The fungi was obviously porcini rather than cultivated mushroom flavoured by a few porcini. My wife’s lasagne was a looser, more open variation of the typical Tuscan style; just as delicious, but different. We had our meal with a half-litre of good house white and a litre of water.
The staff were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Altogether a very happy experience on a hot day. We shall find them again!
