We stayed at this hotel booked through Jet 2 Holidays as a family (2 adults, 1 child aged 13) for a week in May 17. The hotel is in a great location very near to the main square Piazza Tasso and the bustling streets full of shops and bars. This is the main reason we chose the hotel. After reading the reviews we thought that although it had been said the food was poor the location was worth it. The room we had was very clean - good shower and towels changed daily. Plenty of room for 3 of us. Had a kettle, mini fridge and tv (if needed) and air conditioning. The room was at the front of the hotel - the balcony was too small for 3 of us to sit out in comfort and it would have been too noisy anyhow - rooms at the rear of the hotel looked to have larger balconies and would be quieter. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't say this was a family hotel - the pool was small and had no shallow area for children - didn't really bother us as we were out most days sight seeing. On the couple of times we sat round the pool there were sunbeds available - due to the fact there were no children our 13 year old was conscious of making a noise and a bit bored! The food was poor unfortunately and this really let the hotel down. We were half board so had evening meal and breakfast - breakfast wasn't too bad - the usual continental fare of white bread rolls, sliced bread for toast, cheese, ham and salami, tinned fruit and pieces of fresh fruit. There were scrambled eggs and hard (very hard) boiled eggs daily then other random items - sweetcorn one morning? Evening meals were a different matter - we did try to find something we liked - although my child is not a fussy eater we really struggled - 3 choices for starter and 3 for main and dessert - pasta wasn't too bad - it was on for starter every night and there was soup every night (not home made) the main meals were usually meat or fish with a small portion of veg and potatoes mixed (frozen peas, carrots etc) dessert was ice cream, cake or fresh fruit (4 pieces in a dish, not sliced or anything) There was also a small choice of salad - but really weird combinations - eg one night the tinned fruit salad had been tipped into the lettuce - there was also a random hot choice by the salads - one night some sort of sausage rolls and on another it was frittata. We are not really fussy and try to make the best of where we are but we admitted defeat with 3 nights to go and decided to eat out and had some really lovely, well priced food in the local restaurants. I don't understand why in a place where the food and ingredients are so lovely the chef served really tasteless, poor food. So having said all that would we stay again? Yes - the location is very good, the drinks are well priced and the bar area outside is lovely - as was the food served from the snack bar at lunchtimes (bizarrely) I wouldn't stay half board but would pick bed and breakfast and give the evening meal a swerve. If you want something for kids in the hotel don't pick this one - it was mostly middle-aged folk on organised tours. If you are going out and about sightseeing then you'll be fine.
