I'd say it was just good. Not that impressive but not bad either.
I booked 4-bed as I remember, but they gave me 2-bed, which was good for me. Nobody else checked in that room so I was able to use it by myself for 5 days.
The lobby and kitchen look almost like a hotel..quite up scale.
However, you'll find that rooms are not that fancy as lobby. Bed was quite old so mattress was really inconvenient. Bathroom was really small. I've stayed a lot of hostels, but this was the first time that I had complaint on bathroom size.
Well, if you're looking for a hostel in Sorrento with reasonable price, then you'll be pretty satisfied with Ulisse.

As a solo traveller, I stayed in a shared room for six people. Because it was low season, there were only a max of three guests (including myself) over the three nights I was there. This was nice as it meant we had ample space.

The room I was in had two bunk beds (metal), two single wooden beds, two (or two and a half) large wardrobes (you have to use your own lock) and a dressing table with mirror. All guests got to pick the bed they wanted.

Pros:
- Everything was just like a hotel. The lobby, the service and staff at the front desk.
- There were couches outside the room and in the lobby where guests can sit for a chat.
- Nice bathroom with bathtub and toiletries provided.
- Daily cleaning service.

Cons:
- The room had no windows, which meant it got really stuffy, both at night when were we sleeping, and after someone's had a hot shower. At times, I had to open the front door to air the room, and blast the oversized fan for a few seconds to get the stale air out.
- I don't believe two wardrobes would be sufficient for six people during high season, unless they were in groups and were happy to share a wardrobe using the same lock, and everyone was travelling without big luggages.

All in all, I feel it is a great option for that price, and would definitely stay again,

Room tip: The room I was in had no windows. Not sure if they are all the same, but it might be worth asking for one with windows/ventilation.

Good accommodations overall - the staff were very helpful and friendly, our room was as described and spacious, the beds were comfortable, housekeeping was thorough. The included breakfast was convenient but more fresh fruits and juices would have been welcomed. The temperature of the water in the shower was only just warm enough, not hot enough for a bath. The location was on the end of town, still accessible to everything and less street noise. Wifi was free, but bandwidth limited.

We had to change our booking due to an issue with other hotel. The staff of Ulisse did everything to provide us a free room even we were in the busiest period of summer with a 1year old.
They gave us a beautiful room which was like a 4 star hotel room and a baby cot. we had an enormous bathroom, stunning furniture. After such a day we had previously we were really grateful.
The price was not reasonable but really LOW compared to the room.
The food was always good and fresh. I especially liked their cakes.
Very well situated in the city though they are not a family hotel we enjoyed every moment with our baby.
I love the hotel and the entire staff since then.

Definitely not a hostel. So if you enjoy the usual vibe of a hostel (meeting new people, common rooms etc) then its not the place for you. But if you want a break from all that and a hostellers 'luxury' then its a good fit. However, the hotel WiFi is very weak and has a blockage on internet streaming (including YouTube! - which is ridiculous). To get around this activate a VPN and you're good to go. And also the shower completely flooded the bathroom which was so bad it actually seeped into the room... (Not sure if just the room we were in but the front desk was informed and assured us it would be fixed)
