Had a very memorable 5nt stay here earlier this month where we also got married.

The room we stayed in was a double on the level 4 which had a sea view and a small balcony. It was 30degrees+ when we arrived and the air con unit did struggle. Sleeping was difficult throughout as the air con would cut out and the crashing waves outside made sleeping with the windows open impossible. There was a peculiar smell from the bathroom but it looked clean and had a large double shower and was well stocked with toiletries.

Breakfast was buffet style and had everything you would expect. There was also a gluten free section and soya milk available. Staff were attentive and on hand to top up tea and coffee. Great views of the sun rising from the restaurant too.

Outside, the pool area is fairly small but the saltwater pool itself very deep. Could do with some more sun loungers and parasols. Nice pool bar that serves drinks and snacks which you can charge to your room - £5 for a double sandwich with salad and crisps was great value.

There is access to the beach from the pool area and a few shops and restaurants. Plus there's another beach (nicer in our view) about 10mins walk in the other direction.

Buses stop outside the hotel twice hourly and an all day adult ticket is about £2.50 so excellent value for exploring. The hotel is located in a quiet bay which we really liked but the bus to town takes around 10mins so it doesn't feel like you're isolated.

All the staff we met at the hotel were very helpful and spoke excellent English. A service charge is added at the bars and we checked that this does actually go to the staff. Spirit measures are LARGE - cocktails are £10-12 so not cheap but taste great. As do the g&ts which are served in glasses like fish bowls!

Must also mention the fantastic restaurant (will review separately) and beauty spa also located in the hotel. I had hair & make up done here for the wedding and the staff were lovely; I was served prosecco while they made me look amazing.

Staying at the Caleta is definitely recommended. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, everywhere is clean and the renovation plans for the future look outstanding. We will definitely be returning in the future.

My fiancé and I spent the night before our wedding here as part of our wedding package. We were initially disappointed by the exterior appearance which looked a tad tired but we're very pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the staff, quality of facilities and the standard of the rooms. Great value too considering it is peak season. Would gladly recommend to anyone visiting Gibraltar

We came here for our wedding 05/08/2016.
Laura the banquet manager was amazing, she was very organised and even managed to source a photographer and flowers on such short notice.

All the staff on the wedding day were excellent and made sure that we were looked after all day, they all went out of there way to make sure we had a day to remember, I could not fault them.

On behalf of my wife and I thank you so much. We can wait to come back and visit.
