Decided to spend the morning exploring Montjuïc via the Magic Fountain & ended up at the Olympic site (Barcelona 1992). Beautiful but totally wasted, underused and locked up. The graffiti visible at the bottom of the stunning white tower was quite upsetting!

It’s free to enter part of the stadium concourse but no entry to the seating area and field. There is a gift shop and a cafe on site. Next to the stadium is a huge plaza with a view of Barcelona.

The stadium is close to the Joan Antonio Samaranch Olympic & Sports Museum.

We found it quite difficult to find our way in to the Olympic area. We arrived at the Magic Fountain and then looked round to find where we go, there were escalators next to the stairs but no way for wheelchairs to get around the Art Museum. So we went around the road way which was fairly long! At one stage we came across a lift which took you down to the cafeteria, unfortunately this was closed! However, we did find the stadium and got to take some photos, it surprised us by how small it seemed to be. The whole area was incredible there were water features running through the whole site. The swimming pool was being used which was really good to see.

Just like everything else I did in Barcelona this was a special experience. The stadium is beautiful. It was nice to see people still use it too!
