My husband and I spent three nights at Hotel Granvia in March 2018. It was our fourth trip to Barcelona, but our first at Hotel Granvia. We highly recommend it. The location is outstanding - convenient to everything, but relatively quiet.

The interior is beautiful with a grand staircase and lovely public rooms on the first floor including a terrace, a library, and a multi-purpose food room. Multipurpose, as it is used for a marvelous breakfast and for a coffee/cake/tea spread in the afternoon, which is very handy in Barcelona as dinner does not usually begin until 8 or after.

We booked a Superior room which was terrific - spacious; clean; cool, elegant grey and white color scheme; plenty of room to spread out; great bathroom; good lighting for general work and for reading; extremely comfortable bed; well equipped with a refrigerator, safe, and good storage for clothes. Our room faced the street which could have admitted too much light from street lights; however, the curtains were extremely effective at darkening the room.

We didn't require much special support from hotel staff as we were experienced with Barcelona, but, they were always responsive and appropriate.

In rebuttal to the reviews that focus on the small elevator and front desk - this is a classic building. The ground floor with the reception desk is small as its only purpose is to get you into the building. The elevator is adequate and actually works quite smoothly. The hotel does not claim to have bellhops or doormen.

Overall we thought the decor and feel of this hotel was the perfect blend of classic - marble staircase, huge windows, high ceilings - and modern - clean and bright with new bathrooms. It's possible that this hotel would even satisfy the House Hunters International couples who want classic, old world charm with an open floor plan.

I've stayed at this hotel for Mobile World Congress the past 3 years. It's a wonderful hotel with friendly staff, a huge outdoor patio and a relaxing lounge. After a long day at the show, I look forward to retuning to the Granvia each evening to finish work in the library while enjoying snacks and a drink. If you'd rather have tea, there's also a daily tea and coffee service with great desserts. The breakfast is well worth the price and the eating area is never crowded. And you can't beat the location.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. I would just avoid the rooms overlooking the central atrium. There's small and a rather stuffy. But I'd gladly stay here again for a wrok trip or a holiday.

This hotel is amazing, staff were extremely kind, friendly and always willing to help. The rooms were massive and cleaned everyday. Not only is it right out side the metro station and bus stop. But is a 10/15 minute walk to the shops and beach (as well as the museums)

The location is ideal to browse both ends of the shopping spectrum and city experience in Barcelona. The location is also quiet and upmarket enough, unlike those located near crammed streets and rowdy crowds. The rooms weren’t that spacious and do expect a small lobby manned by a lone concierge. Contrary to the photos on their website, which are likely taken using Wide angled lens. There is no door man to handle your baggages or a horde of reception staff, so expect some DIY.
The breakfast room is nicely set up with a chic and stylish interior, I do like the choice of breakfast spread with its healthy corner and gluten free choices.

Room Tip: High floor

Stayed here for 3 nights on a winter break deal. The room we had was spacious, clean and modern, with neutral colours and prints of Picasso sketches on the walls. Reception area had a vintage feel and the building overall is beautiful and so centrally located - 2 minutes from Placa Catalunya and 5 minutes from La Rambla, metro stops just a couple of minutes away too. A surprising bonus was the complimentary tea, served every day from 4.30pm, with a range of fresh, home-made cakes and sandwiches - we chatted to the lady who prepared these, who told us she was always in search of new ideas - the day we left, she was making a German cake. We didn't try the breakfast (14euros per person per day - you can get pastries and coffees in the streets around for 3 euros), but we did have drinks in the lounge area one evening - probably the best mojito I've had. Imagine that in the summer the terrace is a very relaxing place to hang out. Despite being on a busy road, the hotel is quiet - a real retreat in the centre of Barcelona.
