Owner description: The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a monumental church devoted to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Construction began in 1882, based on plans drawn up by the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, and Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to continue the project in 1883. The Temple has always been an expiatory church, built only from donations. As Gaudi said: "The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the site as a minor basilica.

You really can't miss this one if you're in Barcelona. The only downside is you have to select a specific time when you buy tickets online. I don't know how strict they are when they enforced this, but I definitely stayed longer than the two hours I was supposed to stay there.

Two adults and three children going to see a ‘big church’ - I had my doubts. But the guide (with the tickets, nothing so expensive) made it come to life got the children and adults alike. Informative, funny and engaging it made an interesting hour long tour go quickly.

The building is beautiful and inspiring- the colours fantastic. Last time I visited it was dark and covered in scaffolding so this was uplifting and exciting.

Justifiably the #1 attraction in Barcelona and likely one of top 10 man made attractions in the world. Expected to be finished in 2026, but over 100 years into it Antonin Gaudi's dream is already very close to fruition.

Such a weird and wonderful place to visit I loved it and hated it at the same time but it is a must see when in Barcelona. make sure you get your tickets online before you go as if you just turn up you can only buy tickets for the next day so will have to make two trips. If you walk there stop off at the Arc de Triomphe and the Parc de la Ciutadella a beautiful park complete with fountains and boating lake

Magnificent! Short and sweet, this is a must see! It's a tourist trap for sure, and airport security is required for entry, but a genuine must see nonetheless.
