Spectacular landscape.. Worth a visit... The European Grand Canyon. Bring trail runners and run the many trails (just don't get lost!)

This is a must see destination so obviously you need wheels.
The lava flows are epic and if you can read up a bit on the \volcano before you head up there it will be worth it.

In our recent visit to Tenerife with friends el Teide, (Spain highest mountain) was on our schedule among the must see places. Its top was covered with snow. The view getting there was spectacular! We took several pictures in the Miradores along the way as well as in the park. The movie Clash of the Titans was filmed there! Every time we visit Tenerife we go visit el Teide and "el Dedo de Dios".

We took a car ride through the park to the Information Center, where they explain briefly about the species and the formation of the Teide Volcano.
We stopped at several starting points to hike through the desert. The most impressive is the one called "roques de Garcia". Enjoyable if you like canyon-like landscapes and going up and downhill. Bring water and sun protection with you, even in April can get hot.

The view along the way is fabulous, not to mention the pine forest as you move upwards. Make sure you get there early as they block the road when the upper parking lot is full
