Amazing palace and beautiful garden.
Do not miss a tour. Just one minute walk from the big cathedral.

Visit didn't get off to the greatest of starts when we had to queue for an eternity despite buying advance tickets online....however once inside all that was forgotten, we spent hours wandering the beautiful gardens, checking out the amazing architecture, wondering why Spaniards were wearing coats+scarves when it was BOILING HOT!! But then we are English and hadn't seen the sun in 6 months. Lovely place to relax and enjoy a bit of history

You get the picture upon arrival when seeing the U shaped building with a different architecture for each aisle. Mudejar for the central part, baroque on the right and gothic on the left. Oldest castle still in use by royal family and for a reason, it is magnificient! The most refined and prettiest is the mudejar part along with its patio. Surrounded by huge gardens of different styles (french, english, arab, ...) with a variety of fountains : the best way to see them is by strolling through the gallery and sneak peeking left and right. Booking online in advance is recommended or else huge queues are common. The alternative is to book a tour with a private guide, a good way to cut queues and get very interesting historic information about key areas of the city.
