We decided to come on holiday 12 hours before our flight departed so it’s fair to say we did no research. In fact, I jumped on Tripadvisor and booked the hotel which was highest rated offering free parking within our price range.
We were not disappointed. Casa Morisca is a beautiful riad style hotel nestled in the historic city centre and overlooking the Alhambra. It’s not the easiest to get to by car as the streets are narrow and you have to get permission to drive to the pedestrian only centre. However, once you are there you will have no need to use the car again as everything is within easy (hilly) walking distance, including the Alhambra, Sacromonte, Albayzín, Flamenco shows, restaurants and bars.
The rooms aren’t particularly big however they are perfect of you plan on enjoying the city. The bed was enormous and the pillows the best I’ve had in any hotel. Good shower and everything was clean. The only reason I’m knocking a star off is the fact the room was a little too warm for comfort. It seems like they can either have heating on or air con on and as it is still winter it’s still in heating mode. We opened the windows and doors to help cool the room down which made it bearable but we did have quite a sweaty nights sleep.
I would still however return as everything else was spot on and I know for next time to leave the windows open whilst we are out and about!
