A good quality hotel not far from the Kiel waterfront, and in very pleasant grounds. Whoever renovated this place knew what they were doing. Beautiful glass-screened shower. Large screen TV (surprisingly not that common in Germany). Great "traditional" bar area. Did not sample the restaurant, but looked very promising. Steps up front of property were not large suitcase-friendly.

Room tip: I would imagine all rooms are renovated to the same very high standard.

Selected this hotel based on previous reviews. It was a wonderful hotel in a great neighborhood. Our home was very quaint and comfortable. It was over the entrance and a little noisy at night with the windows open.
It was close to the water and walking distance to the Kiel Week festivities.

The yard is fabulous with views of the water and forest.
Our meals were very good and the service was excellent. They even accommodated our family for my wife's birthday.

Don't have to look anywhere else...We will be back next year.

The Hotel is nicely located, with view to the sea. The room was spacey, beautiful and romantic. Good parking possibilities. Breakfast was excellent and rich, staff is helpful and very friendly. The Spa-area is extraodinarily clean, as are the rooms (and the whole hotel). In Kiel there will be never another hotel than this

We arrived on Friday and stayed till Sunday. We had one of nice rooms in the new part of the hotel. The sea view is some 20 EUR extra, but we thought sea view is the better option, because it is even more quiet than the other rooms. The place is nice, close to the harbour coast line ("Förde"), the staff is professional. There are two in-house restaurants: one is more like an expensive burger/grill/ barbecue place with good burgers, but around 30 EUR is little bit weird. Therefore the 3 course menue with moderate alcohol consumption was 200 EUR for 4 Persons. Dinner was fine, but not special. After this experience WE decided, that we don't want to try the gourmet restaurant, which is the 2nd option.

The offer in the bar is quite good, prices are as expected in hotel bars. As the bar was new when we stayed there, there weren't many other guest for quite some time. But I guess people around will come to know about the bar sooner or later.

Little curiosity at the arrival: we asked at the frontdesk, where to park the car to handle the luggage. We parked exactely where we were told to park and the gardener reacted very harsh, because OBVIOUSLY, we were damaging the stone floor.

However, nice weekend, nice hotel.

It is a nice friendly hotel. Public areas are mondernised but hotel rooms are too old to be romantic. Location with view on the bay is great if you walk out of the hotel. Running through the park and across the shore is refreshing in the morning. Staff is friendly as well as the price of a hotelroom.

I woud, come back for the price/quality. But do not increase pricing before the rooms are monsernised.
